About Me

I am a Professional School Counselor with my M.S.Ed from Old Dominion University located in Norfolk, VA.  My coursework also includes the requirements to be eligible to receive my License Professional Counselor (LPC) credentials in the state of Virginia.  In 2017, I received my B.S. in Physical Education from ODU.  My professional and volunteer experience includes School Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Youth Development, Youth Mentoring, and Youth Recreational activities.

Strength and Growing Areas

My strengths include delivering communication between important stakeholders, utilizing a student-centered approach, bringing a positive mindset to the environment, conflict resolution, mediation, and serving as an advocate for my students.  I thrive at building a trusting relationship with others as I believe this is an important step in achieving success within the schools.

My growing areas include expanding my knowledge on instructional techniques to provide additional support to every student population.  I have a strong desire to continue my development in trauma informed care practices and to execute the implementation of restorative circles and practices within the school systems.

Professional Development Plan

My professional development plan includes continuing to learn and grow within my Professional School Counselor role.  As a School Counselor, I will continue to attend a variety of professional development meetings along with conferences that focus on curriculum and instructional techniques such as VASCD, ASCA, and VSCA.  Furthermore, I plan on attending trainings that involve but not limited to trauma informed care and restorative practices within the school systems.
